THE STORY

Every story begins here — where movement, creation, connection and a fully lived life meet.

THE HOUSE OF JEN RODD

The House of Jen Rodd is both a place and a philosophy

It is my home, my work and the way I choose to live.

For years I tried to separate the different parts of my life—business, yoga, conversation, creativity, design, beauty, nature, food and wellbeing. Eventually I realised they were never separate at all. They were simply different expressions of the same person.

At the centre of it all is my work with people.

Through private conversations, yoga and retreats, I help you get to the truth of who you are and what you want.

I listen carefully. I ask direct questions. I notice patterns. Together we untangle what is truly yours from what has been inherited, expected or assumed, creating the clarity and confidence to move forward in a way that feels honest and deeply your own.

Everything else you see here exists because I love it.

HOTRODDS was born from my own movement practice and my love of beautiful things. I design the leggings I want to wear—pieces inspired by colour, travel, nature and art, created because they make me feel alive. If they resonate with you, I hope you'll enjoy wearing them too.

The same is true of the organic products I share, the conversations I host and the stories I tell. They are not separate businesses. They are simply parts of my life that I enjoy creating and offering to others.

The House of Jen Rodd is not about becoming someone else.

It is about living as fully and honestly as yourself, and having the courage to create a life that reflects who you truly are.

The Story of Jen Rodd

I grew up in South Africa between two very different worlds.

One belonged to my father: the bush, wildlife, adventure, discipline and the freedom of wide open spaces.

The other belonged to my mother: beauty, elegance, fabric, creativity and an appreciation for the details that make life feel beautiful.

I attended an all-girls boarding school where independence, resilience, excitement and the lifelong value of sisterhood became part of who I am.

Looking back, I realise these contrasts shaped my entire life. Raw yet refined. Creative yet practical. Grounded yet adventurous.

I have never been very good at staying inside one box.

In my early twenties I left South Africa and moved to London to build a life from scratch.

There I founded Enjen Solutions Ltd, a specialist recruitment company within the world of process control and automation engineering. It was a technical, predominantly male environment and an unusual place for a young South African woman to build a business. I loved it. It taught me resilience, courage, communication and the value of building trust.

At the same time, another passion was quietly growing.

People.

I have always been fascinated by people.

What drives them.
What shapes them.
Why some people live lives that feel deeply their own while others slowly disappear beneath expectation and responsibility.

That curiosity led me into television, radio and interviewing.

I co-hosted Business Casual Friday on Amsterdam FM alongside Qmusic presenter Stephan Bouwman, interviewing entrepreneurs, creatives and public figures. I later interviewed the late Mayor of Amsterdam, Eberhard van der Laan, Jos Wienen for AT5 Haarlem, and many others whose stories reinforced my belief that every person carries wisdom if someone is willing to listen.

I was invited to host conversations for IDFA, including some of the festival's most challenging interviews, and later created my own interview platforms, A Million Stories and Inspirational Interviews, where I continued exploring what it means to be human.

At another point in my life I decided I wanted to act.

So I trained, auditioned and was cast as Dr Van Zyl in the South African television series Scandal!

It wasn't about becoming famous.

It was another reminder that life expands when we have the courage to try.

Alongside my career I have always studied.

Corporate communication and interpersonal skills.
Master NLP and Life Coaching.
Hatha Yoga Teacher Training.
Nutrition.
Fashion.
Psychology.
Human behaviour.

Some through formal education, some through workshops and mentors, and much of it through relentless curiosity.

But my greatest education has been life itself.

Entrepreneurship.
Migration.
Motherhood.
Grief.
Loss.
Rebuilding.
Beginning again.
Creating.
Failing.
Trying anyway.

Having experienced profound anxiety and post-traumatic stress myself, I understand how overwhelming life can sometimes feel. I also know that people are often far stronger than they believe, and that with the right support, courage and perspective, a different future is possible.

Today, through private conversations, yoga and retreats, I help you get to the truth of who you are and what you want.

Not who the world expects you to be.

You.

The House of Jen Rodd is simply the home where all of these parts come together.

It is where conversation meets movement.

Where creativity meets wellbeing.

Where beauty meets honesty.

Where ideas become reality.

HOTRODDS exists because I love beautiful things that make women feel good in their own skin, so I design them.

The products I share exist because I use them myself and believe in them.

The conversations I host exist because I believe every person deserves to be heard.

None of these are separate businesses.

They are simply different expressions of the same life.

My life.

And if there is one thing I hope to leave you with, it is this:

You are allowed to change.
You are allowed to begin again.
You are allowed to create a life that feels like your own.

I know that because I have spent my life doing exactly that.
