I created The House of Jen Rodd as a reflection of a life fully lived — wild yet refined, grounded yet creative, rooted in strength, beauty and human connection.

The House of Jen Rodd was never created as a brand in the traditional sense. It became a natural reflection of the way I live, create, host, move and see the world.

Raised in South Africa between raw nature, open landscapes and a deeply grounded way of life, I grew up connected to both resilience and freedom — while also being surrounded by beauty, fabric, aesthetics and creativity through my family. Moving to Europe brought another layer: refinement, introspection, craftsmanship and a quieter, more considered way of living. The contrast between these worlds continues to shape everything I create today.

For years, different parts of my life existed side by side — movement, design, fabric, food, conversation, coaching, creativity, beauty, resilience, nature and human connection. What I eventually realised is that none of these parts were separate. They were simply different expressions of the same philosophy: living connected to all parts of yourself.

The fabric draped over my arm in this image is part of that story. It represents the origins of HOTRODDS — a project born from my own artwork, movement practice and appreciation for beautifully made, deeply wearable pieces. Standing at the industrial machine reflects another side of me: hands-on, detail-driven, creative and willing to build things from the ground up.

THE SPOONS

The idea of “The Spoons” came from many late-night conversations with my husband and friends while trying to understand how all these different parts of my life fit together. As someone who loves cooking, gathering people around a table and creating meaningful experiences, we imagined them as spoons hanging together in a kitchen — each one different in shape and purpose, yet all belonging to the same home and the same story.

The spoons became a reflection of that understanding. Different expressions of life, creativity, wellbeing and human experience — held together under one roof, rather than separated into compartments.

The House of Jen Rodd exists as a space for that integration. A place where movement, conversation, nourishment, creativity, reflection and connection can coexist honestly and naturally — just as they do in real life.

Everything I teach, create and share comes from lived experience. I do not believe in performing wellness or teaching from distance. I believe in living it, breathing it and continuously returning to myself through all the layers that make us human.
